Let's Read Programs at WPL

Bookmark Contest - Now until November 21st!
To celebrate Let’s Read we will be hosting a Bookmark Contest for children ages 5-12 at Waterloo Public Library. We are looking for colourful and creative entries on the theme of the book Jacob Two-Two Meets the Hooded Fang by Mordecai Richler. Winners will receive some cool prizes. The contest runs from Sunday, Sept. 27th to Saturday, Nov. 21st. Come in and pick up your entry form. You can even enter twice!

Tee Power - NEW DATE!
Show your ‘Child Power’ and create your own wearable work of art. Please bring your own plain white t-shirt to decorate with art inspired by the book Jacob Two-Two meets the Hooded Fang.
Date: Friday, November 6th (P.D. Day)
Time: 1:30 to 2:15 p.m.
Place: Main Library, 35 Albert Street
Ages: 5 and up

School Outreach
Library staff will visit your classroom for a fun , interactive 30 minute presentation and a chance to win all 4 titles in the Jacob Two-Two series. Class visits are available October 5th to

Power Hour
An hour of excitement,in celebration of Jacob Two-Two Meets the Hooded Fang. Games stories, crafts and more!

Let's Read, Let's Count at RWL!

Jacob Two-Two has fun with numbers, and so can we! Join us a for a special family storytime at the Region of Waterloo Library. "Let's Read, Let's Count" features stories and interactive activities for children 3-7 years old and parents/caregivers. Drop in to one of the rural library branches for two times the fun!

North Dumfries Township:
Tuesday, December 1st, 10:30 - 11:15 a.m. at the Ayr branch (137 Stanley Street in Ayr)

Wellesley Township:

Come join us at Word on the Street on Sunday, September 27th in the Heritage Canada Children's tent for the official launch of Let's Read!

Sing, dance, and listen to Mike Farwell, from 570 News and Rogers TV, read the very first chapter from Jacob Two Two Meets the Hooded Fang.

Check out Rogers 'daytime' talk show (Cable 20) on Thursday, September 24th live at 11:00 a.m. to hear all about Let's Read! Karen Murray-Hopf will share information on the program and all the upcoming events surrounding this very exciting new project. If you miss us in the morning, 'daytime' is re-broadcast at 3:00 p.m., 4:30 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. the same day.
